Three years ago, I journeyed to work among an unreached people group for two weeks. What I learned there were New Testament methods and principles that I would bring home and wonder how the American church could fulfill the Jesus’ command by becoming a community on mission.
After taking the Perspectives course, returning to Indonesia again, and hosting a DMM training in our church the ball really got rolling. It wasn’t until my friend Jordan recommended the book Megachurch to Movement, by Chris Gallano, that things started firing. We began praying for a church planting movement in our city, reading books, until we had enough and started a missional community/dmm team this January.
Starting in March, my wife and I began talking with World Venture to see how pursuing this ministry full-time might fit with their organizations aims. Long story short, we are close to coming on board with World Venture as Mobilizer for DMM Initiatives. Which means with tons more prayer and support, I will be Catalyzing DMM through leading a team, being a daily practitioner, training and sending disciple-makers down the street and across the ocean.
