Many in this city are My people

As I track the journey of 2020, it is this prayer I prayed from Acts 18:10 out loud in downtown Corvallis that echoed off the buildings and began a shaking in my soul, among my friends, and through the unfolding meetings and conversations I described in my last post. I can see humble beginnings of new kingdom movement.

“And the Lord said to Paul one night in a vision, “Do not be afraid, but go on speaking and do not be silent, for I am with you, and no one will attack you to harm you, for I have many in this city who are my people.””

This passage, paired with Paul’s statement about the elect in 2 Timothy 2:10, reveal the concept Paul saw. Among the lost and unreached of a city are those God is planning to and in the process of drawing to Himself and it is our mission to find them through speaking the Word in dependence on the Holy Spirit’s leading.

“Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that they also may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.”

Here is the video of that prayer and message. It is kind of long but the first 5 minutes get to the heart of it:https://www.facebook.com/russrichmond/videos/10223544390787604/
